Development of a Microfinance Loan for Housing and Linking Indiramma Pathakam with Microfinance By Objectives of the Study: The butt of the study is to understand the demand for living accommodations loans in the urban slums, and develop a loan product for the already breathing MFI consultants; linking the Government scheme of Indiramma Pathakam of providing housing loans for urban and rural poor, with microfinance for the brim money to be contributed by the beneficiary. Findings: The major findings from the survey were, there was high demand for housing loans in the base income group people (64% of the people interviewed required a housing loan), the income levels in different families, the expenditure of household was a forgetful(p) over 50% of the total household income, the survey shows that the repayment period required by the poor is a short one, as they disliked long term liability and they favoured a monthly repayment rather than weekly repayment. The interest tread expected was less than the existing interest of 12% flat.
