Progressivism
The progressive sequence was a period of social, political, and economic reforms in the States. The progressivism movement lasted from 1900s to 1917. There were numerous causes and designs to the progressive reform movement.
There were many causes of the progressive reform movement. With the new creation of the industrial rotary motion created a new society in America. Therefore America need new laws to be formed or a readjustment in the law system. (Doc.1) There was problem of nipper labor, unsafe working conditions and sanitary problems thats needed attention.(O.I) With the industrial revolution, there was no effort to conserve nature resources and governments were decent selfish. Reform was needed. (Doc.2)
With the progressive movement came many goals. Those who supported progressivism treasured an undivided nation. They wanted equal rights and mutual helpfulness.
They also believed in a government that represented the good deal. (Doc.3) One progressive mudslinger in general named John Spargo wanted to show people what they neglected to see and protect the health of children. (Doc.4) They also believed they could act problems in society by applying Christian principles. (Doc.5) A goal of Theodore Roosevelt was to conserve the shrinking of natural resources. He believed that people were destroying the environments and that we needed to protect this area for the future generations. (Doc.6) Some reforms that helped people in America were settlement houses which offered aid to poor citizens in slums. excessively the child labor laws which reduced child labor in factories helped children. As well as anti-trust laws which broke up self-aggrandizing trust among companies that were harming consumers.
