How did the Greeks conceptions of religion changed?
oContacts with other civilizations of the eastern Mediterranean caused a few Greeks to become less concern with the sacred views of their society.
oGreek thinkers began to see laws and government as institutions created by ordinary human being and not by the gods, so they turned away from mythology.
oThe initial step in this direction began in Ionia.

THE ORIGINS OF GREEK PHILOSOPHY

oThere are four philosophers and these man are;
a)Thales of Miletus in Ionia. He was the first Greek philosopher. He was interested in the nature of the populace, or cosmos.



His reasonable explanation was that the basic substance of the world in which all else was composed is water. He also believed that all things in nature must be explained by natural processes.
b)Pythagoras. just about famous of these Italian Greek philosophers. His explanation was that everything in the universe was made up of numerical relationships and could therefore be understood, draw and manipulated mathematically. He is best remembered for the PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM of geometry.

c)Parmenides of Elea. He also employ Pythagoras rules to philosophy itself. He also established the formal system of logic meaning that all assertions must be base on reasoned proof.
