This study is a compiling of studies and papers written on the phenomenal growth of e commerce currently being observed in the trade today. As the internet has changed lineage and offered new business opportunities, there is the friction of assimilating the old and new together turn firms continue to explore and penetrate further to new consumers. The parents of the baby-boomers precept changes from the horse and buggy into the automobile age and the boomers have witnessed legion(predicate) changes in their lives. Society has gone from record players of vinyl 78s and 45s to eight-tracks, cassettes, CDs and nowadays flash drives, from the portable radio to the walkman and now the iPod.
Shopping for the boomers parents meant sack down to the general store, then the department stores emerged. The boomers saw the change move to shopping malls, discount outlets, the surge of catalog business and develop mail. The advent of the internet is changing every path of life. This study takes a look at how the internet is shape the retail landscape and the effect that the internet is having currently and how e-commerce will impact the retail future.
